Emily is our Database & Information Manager, ensuring that our recordkeeping is clear and up to date, while also handing much of our daily gift processing and database management. As donations are received, she makes sure that the information is correctly documented in our database, and sends out letters acknowledging the donor for their support. Emily helps program staff by making sure their activities are clearly documented, helping all current and future staff run more efficiently. Emily also preserves and organizes our records and historical documents (almost 50 years' worth of material).
Emily has a master's degree in records management and archives and cares deeply about maintaining good clean data to assist the rest of her team. Emily feels lucky to be able to apply these skills at 1000 Friends while working to support her love of Oregon, thoughtful land use planning, environmental stewardship, and the nonprofit sector.
As Governor Tom McCall famously said, "Oregon is an inspiration." For Emily, Oregon's got it all: amazing cities, forests, mountains, coastline, prairie lands, and deserts. She spends a lot of time outdoors and the rich, abundant natural beauty is always an inspiration.
In Oregon, her favorite place is the trails of Mt. Hood. Beyond Oregon, her favorite place is Iceland.
Away from work, Emily is likely on her bike or watching movies!
