Emily is our Database & Information Manager, handing much of our daily gift processing and database management. As donations are received, she makes sure that the information is correctly documented in our database, and send out letters acknowledging the donor for their support. She also assists with special projects relating to data management, as well as preserving and organizing our records and historical documents (almost 50 years worth of material).
She is currently enrolled in a full-time graduate program studying archives and records management. Emily feels lucky to be able to apply these skills at 1000 Friends while working to support her love of Oregon, thoughtful land use planning, environmental stewardship, and the non-profit sector!
As Governor Tom McCall famously said, "Oregon is an inspiration." For Emily, Oregon's got it all: cities, forests, mountains, coastline, prairie lands, and deserts. She spends a lot of time outdoors and the rich, abundant natural beauty is always an inspiration.
In Oregon, her favorite place is the trails of Mt. Hood. Beyond Oregon, her favorite place is Iceland.
Away from work, Emily is likely on her bike or with her laptop studying for grad school...so many scholarly articles!
