Haley is a new Portland resident and a recent graduate from Colorado State University's Environmental and Natural Resource Economics program.
They are interested in work which explores the intersections between agricultural conservation, community-based food systems, and environmental justice. Their research this summer will focus on the economic and cultural benefits of agricultural lands — with particular emphasis on how land use advocacy can support farmers with diverse identities. In their free time, you can find Haley biking, climbing, and backcountry skiing throughout the Cascades.
Haley is tremendously excited to begin interning with 1000 Friends, and looking forward to a summer exploring opportunities to support Oregon's agricultural future.
