Accessibility resources
- The Arc Oregon: Maintains a comprehensive resource list for people living with disabilities in Oregon.
- Community Vision: Empowers Oregonians with information, advocacy, and services, including direct support in accessing home rentals.
- Disability Rights Oregon: Promotes a wide range of information, networks, and resources, including related to accessible housing. See their Fair Housing Handbook: Reasonable Accommodations & Modifications (2008).
- Oregon Department of Human Services: Provides services for disabled and aging Oregonians.
Energy efficiency, weatherization, and livability resources
- Energy Trust of Oregon: Offers energy savings and weatherization solutions for homes and businesses.
- Manufactured Home Replacement: Energy Trust of Oregon offers funding for replacement of manufactured homes built before 1995, which can be very energy inefficient, costly, or unsafe.
- OHCS Weatherization Assistance Programs: A federally-funded program that provides low-income households with home weatherization services in order to reduce costs and improve comfort.
Fair Housing
- Fair Housing Council of Oregon: A statewide civil rights organization that proactively promotes housing justice, equity, and inclusion. They work to end illegal housing discrimination and promote equal access to housing choice through education and enforcement of fair housing law.
- Building Inclusive Communities: A Guide for Public Officials (2024): A guide for integrating fair housing into land use planning, including how to best integrate it into the Housing Production Strategy.
- Fair Housing Rights for People Living With Disabilities (2021): A guide to fair housing rights, from application through move-out.
- The State of Fair Housing in Oregon (2022): A comprehensive analysis of housing discrimination complaints between 2014 and 2022 broken down by protected class.
Homeownership programs
- Homeownership Development Incubator Program (HDIP): This program provides funding to developers to create affordable homeownership opportunities for low- to moderate-income families.
- Oregon Housing and Community Services: This agency operates a flex lending program and a downpayment assistance program in order to support first-time homebuyers.
- Other: Many regional organizations provide localized support for home buyers, and we recommend you research the programs available in your region, including contacting your local government to ask what is available.
Tenant resources and rights
- Community Alliance of Tenants: Provides education and advocacy for tenants; operates a hotline to answer legal questions.
- Eviction Prevention Mediation: Resolution Oregon provides mediation to help families stay housed and ensure better stability for communities. Some local organizations also provide mediation.

- Tenant Rights 101 (2024): A webinar by Anti-Displacement Coalition PDX that covers the fundamentals of tenant rights.
- Video explaining new limits to rent increases and no-cause evictions in Oregon (2019): Legal Aid Services of Oregon explains the impacts of Senate Bill 608.
Wildfire resilience resources
- “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” (2024): A film from Lostine Canyon about a group of residents who successfully organized to build wildfire resilience in a high-risk area.
- Wildfire-Ready Oregon: Provides detailed information for preparing your house, your family, and your community for wildfire, as well as advocacy information for improving preparations across the state.
