Where we live shapes everything: Our health, our climate impact, our access to opportunity, and our sense of belonging.
To kick off both Fair Housing Month and Earth Month, join 1000 Friends of Oregon and Fair Housing Council of Oregon (FHCO) for an interactive teach-in exploring the connections between fair housing, tenant organizing, and environmental justice. This event will be held at the Dear Portland exhibit at Stelo Arts.
This event will include an interactive presentation led by FHCO with support from 1000 Friends. Participants will learn how Oregon's history of displacement, segregation, and harassment influences housing inequity today. The presentation will highlight the intersection of housing justice and climate justice, and the current landscape of housing rights.
We’ll also look to the future: what does the future of fair housing look like with so many current rights under threat? How can we as a community continue to fight for a thriving Oregon for all?
Join us for a dynamic evening of learning, reflection, and action at the intersection of housing and environmental justice.
This event will include light refreshments.
