The problem: About the Bull Run Water Filtration Plant
Many Oregonians have raised questions and proposed solutions in response to the City of Portland’s Bull Run Water Filtration Plant due to the effect this “unruly mega-project” will have on water rates (which are slated to double in the next decade), its impacts on unincorporated communities in east Multnomah County and north Clackamas County, and the damage it currently wreaking on productive farmland and natural areas. Learn more about the full situation here.
The solution: About TAP’s community workshop
For every problem, there is a solution! At this workshop, you will hear from people closest to the issue, TAP coalition members, elected officials—and you! Bring your questions and suggestions for solutions that will uplift you, your family, friends, and community for generations to come.
We will be discussing a potential City of Portland resolution that will cover: Establishing project oversight, identifying funding sources (that are not ratepayers), addressing turnover at Portland Water Bureau, and exploring viable alternatives to address possible cryptosporidium concerns.
