Kate Bemesderfer

Membership Experience Director

Kate Bemesderfer originally joined 1000 Friends of Oregon in 2017, and is excited to be back after a two-year hiatus. Her work with nonprofits has spanned more than two decades and five states, including seven years in Oregon with organizations including EarthShare Oregon, Willamette Riverkeeper, and Portland Parks Foundation. Originally from the East Coast – she grew up mainly in Pennsylvania, lived in New York City for many years, and is a graduate of NYU – Kate has lived west of the Rockies for more than fifteen years.

As membership experience director, Kate’s focus is on growing a deeper, broader, and more diverse base of support for 1000 Friends as we mark our 50th anniversary as an organization. She knows from experience that there’s simply no place like Oregon, and that the statewide land use planning program is at the heart of what makes the state such an amazing place to live, work, and play. She is honored to return to her role with an organization that works to extend that legacy to more and more people every day, in Oregon and beyond.
