1000 Friends of Oregon is thrilled to announce our 2025 Affiliate Conference, a two-day gathering of affiliates, partners, and members from across the state. This year’s event—taking place Thursday, November 6 and Friday, November 7—offers a unique opportunity to celebrate recent successes, exchange ideas, and plan for the future of Oregon’s land use system. This is the first Affiliate Conference 1000 Friends of Oregon has hosted since 2019.
“This conference is about bringing our strong affiliate network together to share what’s working, overcome challenges, and envision how Oregon’s land use planning program can continue to serve our communities for generations to come.” - Sam Diaz, executive director, 1000 Friends of Oregon
Our agenda: shaped by you
This year’s conference kicks off on Thursday, November 6 in the afternoon with a guided tour of a family farm in Albany.
Participants will enjoy local food and beverages while exploring how Oregon’s land use planning system supports working lands and rural communities. The evening will conclude with a vision exercise reflecting on the past, present, and future of land use advocacy in Oregon. This portion of the event will be limited to 30 people.
On Friday, affiliates will gather from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Oregon State University for a full day of learning and collaboration.
The program includes:
- Highlights and recognition of affiliate successes
- Peer learning sessions to share lessons and challenges
- Skill-building breakouts on community organizing, digital communications, and legal and policy partnerships
- Updates on statewide land use issues and legislative priorities
- A goal-setting workshop to help affiliates plan for the year ahead
Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and there will be ample time for networking and connection throughout the day.
We look forward to seeing you in Albany and Corvallis this November as we continue building a strong network of advocates for Oregon’s land, communities, democracy, and shared prosperity. For questions about the event, contact Anna Kemper, Membership Experience Manager, at anna@friends.org.
