At 1000 Friends of Oregon, we believe that stewarding Oregon’s land use legacy means fighting every day to protect the places and people that make this state so special. And this year, the 2025 legislative session reminded us just how critical (and challenging) that work can be.
More than 3,400 bills were introduced during this session. Our team tracked over 450 of them, advancing smart policies that preserve farmland, protect forests, and strengthen Oregon communities. From closing loopholes that threaten agricultural lands to championing equitable transportation investments, our advocacy was grounded in a single guiding principle: protecting what makes Oregon Oregon.
But none of this progress would be possible without you.
Thousands of Oregonians took action. You wrote your legislators, testified in Salem, and stood with us to defend our state’s landmark land use planning system. That energy translated into real momentum, especially in our efforts to strengthen farmland and farmer protections, where we saw the most meaningful legislative progress in years.
Now, as we look ahead, we’re calling on our supporters once again.
Double your impact by August 31
Today, we’re excited to launch our summer Double the Impact campaign. Thanks to a few generous members, every donation made by August 31 will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $30,000, helping us reach our campaign goal of $60,000.
Throughout August, we’ll be sharing a few stories from Oregonians on the ground whose work shows what it truly means to commit as stewards of Oregon’s future.
This is an important opportunity to support our mission at a pivotal moment. Whether you’ve been with us since 1974 or just joined the movement this year, your support is helping us fight for Oregon’s future – from the legislature to the courts.
