Sofia Baum is the membership experience manager at 1000 Friends of Oregon. She is from Junction City, a small rural community in Oregon, where her early experiences grounded her commitment to equity, movement-building, and protecting Oregon’s natural beauty.

After earning dual degrees in business administration and sustainability from Oregon State University, Sofia joined Oregon’s farmworker movement as capital campaign manager at Anahuac Farm at Capaces Leadership Institute. Through this role and her consulting practice, Sofia has partnered with nonprofit organizations across Oregon on fundraising strategy, organizational development, and large-scale project management. She is passionate about supporting community-driven initiatives that strengthen membership, build collective power, and advance long-term systems change.

Sofia is committed to ensuring Oregon remains a safe, healthy, and thriving place for all. She brings a long-term, systems-oriented perspective to her work, with a focus on aligning mission, strategy, and sustainable funding to support lasting impact.

In her free time, Sofia is an avid traveler, loves Latin dancing, is a proud dog mama, and enjoys spending time outdoors exploring Oregon’s landscapes.
